These days almost everybody knows what a conference call is... yea I know, there are free services like Skype which are decent if you have access to studio quality equipment... but almost no one has studio quality equipment unless you're a radio station of professional podcaster, like Podcast Answer Man. For everyone else, the best choice is still a land line or (cell phone if you must) and a top notch conference call service provider. Now that we have that out of the way, I want to tell you how to create conference calls that gets results. The first thing you need to do, is pick the people who will be on your call. I'm a big fan of having no more than 7 ACTIVE participants on the call. If you want to have a call with a 1,000 people... go for it! I'd love to do it sometime, but really that's more of a tele-seminar. Here I am just talking about 7 people buying into participating and that's the key word for today, participating in your conference call. How do you get your participants to participate? By creating an agenda that matters to THEM, not you! How do you do this? By asking each would be participant what they would most like to get out of the conference calls. Listen, engage, ask questions, and come up with a killer agenda! See my 0:47 minute video on how to set up a conference call:
Now that your agenda is laid out, each conference call should last no more than 60 minutes. Most groups meet twice a month. I have facilitated groups that meet as early as 6 a.m. and others as late as 2 p.m. . The time does not really matter as long as you make it a routine. Once your call begins you'll want to make sure you record it. That's one of the benefits of doing business with Conference Calls Unlimited... FREE call recording. They send you a handy link when your call is finished and you can instantly download the file. Why is this important? Because you want to be able to transcribe the conference call. You want to take the rare nuggets of insight from your participants and GET them down on paper. Why? Because it helps you focus, it creates accountability, and if managed properly, will create conference calls that get results, I guarantee it! Questions? For a limited-time, I'm available for FREE private coaching Tuesday evenings from 6-8 CST. I would love to help you create conference calls that get results.
